Azdiyya, that is Massa, said, "I went on Hajj and visited Umm Salama. I said to her, 'Mother of the Believers, Samura bin Jundab is ordering women to make up the prayers missed during menstruation.'"She replied, "They should not make them up. A woman from among the wives of the Prophet ﷺ would remain in postnatal bleeding for forty nights, and the Prophet ﷺ would not order her to make up the prayers missed during that time."Muhammad, meaning Ibn Hatim, said, "Her name is Massa, and her kunya is Umm Bussa."

حدثتني الأزدية يعني مسة قالت حججت فدخلت على أم سلمة فقلت يا أم المؤمنين إن سمرة بن جندب يأمر النساء يقضين صلاة المحيض فقالت لا يقضين كانت المرأة من نساء النبي ﷺ تقعد في النفاس أربعين ليلة لا يأمرها النبي ﷺ بقضاء صلاة النفاس قال محمد يعني ابن حاتم واسمها مسة تكنى أم بسة
