Whoever fastens the jizyah around his neck has absolved himself of what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came with.

Sourcing, its isnad is daif. Bayhaqi narrated it, 9/139, from the hadith of Abu Dawud, through the same chain. Abu Abdullah Khuzai, I have not found anyone who deemed him trustworthy, and there is doubt about whether he actually heard from Muaz.
