The grandmother of their father informed them, saying, "We came before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. My companion went forward first, meaning Hurayth bin Hassan, the envoy of Bakr bin Waail, and pledged allegiance to him, accepting Islam for himself and for his people. Then he said, 'Messenger of Allah, write a document between us and Banu Tamim stipulating that none of them may cross beyond ad-Dahna into our territory, except for a traveler or a neighbor.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Write it for him, boy, granting him ad-Dahna.'When I saw that he had ordered it be assigned to him, it shook me, for it was my homeland and my dwelling place. So I said, 'Messenger of Allah, he has not asked you for an equitable share of the land. Ad-Dahna, as you know, is the place where camels are tethered and sheep graze, and behind it are the women and children of Banu Tamim.'He said, 'Hold off, boy. The poor woman has spoken the truth. The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim. Water and pasture are shared between them, and they aid one another against troublemakers.'"
