Were it not for the last of the Muslims, I would not conquer a town without dividing it as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided Khaybar.

لولا آخر المسلمين ما فتحت قرية إلا قسمتها كما قسم رسول الله ﷺ خيبر
Bukhari narrated it in "Cultivation and Sharecropping," in the chapter "The Endowments of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ and Land Subject to Land Tax, Their Sharecropping and Dealings," hadith no. 2334, from the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi through this route.
