Abdullah bin Umar reported,

The Prophet ﷺ fought the people of Khaybar and gained control over their palm groves and land, driving them back into their fortress. They then made peace with him on the terms that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would receive their gold, silver, and weapons, while they could keep whatever their riding camels could carry, on the condition that they would not conceal or hide anything. If they did, no protection or covenant would apply to them. They hid a leather pouch belonging to Huyayy bin Akhtab, who had been killed before Khaybar. He had carried it with him on the day of Banu Nadir, when the Nadir were expelled, and it contained their jewelry. The Prophet ﷺ said to Saya, "Where is the pouch of Huyayy bin Akhtab?"He replied, "Wars and expenses consumed it."But they found the pouch, so Ibn Abu al-Huqayq was killed, their women and children were taken captive, and the Prophet intended to expel them. They said, "Muhammad, let us work this land and we will take half the produce, while you take half, however you see fit."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give each of his wives eighty wasqs of dates and twenty wasqs of barley.
