Ayesha reported,

With this hadith, it was reported that Abu Bakr refused her request, saying, "I will not abandon anything the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do without doing it myself. I fear that if I were to leave any of his practice, I would deviate."As for his charitable endowment in Medina, Umar handed it over to Ali and Abbas , and Ali prevailed over it. As for Khaybar and Fadak, Umar retained them, saying, "These are the charity of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They were set aside for the dues that came upon him and the calamities that befell him, and their administration belongs to whoever is in charge of affairs."The narrator said, "They have remained so to this day."

حدثنا حجاج بن أبي يعقوب حدثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم بن سعد حدثنا أبي عن صالح عن ابن شهاب قال أخبرني عروة أن

عائشة رضي الله عنها أخبرته

بهذا الحديث قال فيه فأبى أبو بكر رضي الله عنه عليها ذلك وقال لست تاركا شيئا كان رسول الله ﷺ يعمل به إلا عملت به إني أخشى إن تركت شيئا من أمره أن أزيغ فأما صدقته بالمدينة فدفعها عمر إلى علي وعباس رضي الله عنهما فغلبه علي عليها وأما خيبر وفدك فأمسكهما عمر وقال هما صدقة رسول الله ﷺ كانتا لحقوقه التي تعروه ونوائبه وأمرهما إلى من ولي الأمر قال فهما على ذلك إلى اليوم
