I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The one who collects charity justly is like a warrior in the path of Allah until he returns to his home."
حدثنا محمد بن إبراهيم الأسباطي حدثنا عبد الرحيم بن سليمان عن محمد بن إسحق عن عاصم بن عمر بن قتادة عن محمود بن لبيد
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول العامل على الصدقة بالحق كالغازي في سبيل الله حتى يرجع إلى بيته
[Its chain is hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in the chapter on zakat, in the section on what has been said about the collector of charity acting with rightness, no. 645, and Ibn Majah, no. 1809, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Ishaq through this route. He made clear that he heard it directly, as recorded by Ahmad, 4/143. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2334, and so did Hakim, according to the standard of Muslim, 1/406, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih."
