A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, they ask you for a ruling concerning kalalah. What is kalalah?"He replied, "The verse of summer suffices you."I said to Abu Ishaq, "Is it the one who dies leaving neither child nor parent?"He said, "That is what they thought, that it is so."
حدثنا منصور بن أبي مزاحم حدثنا أبو بكر عن أبي إسحق
جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله يستفتونك في الكلالة فما الكلالة قال تجزيك آية الصيف فقلت لأبي إسحق هو من مات ولم يدع ولدا ولا والدا قال كذلك ظنوا أنه كذلك
Referencing, [hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in tafsir al-Quran, chapter "And from Surah Nisa," hadith no. 3042, from the hadith of Abu Bakr bin Ayyash, through this route, and it is daif, but the hadith has corroborating witnesses in Muslim, hadith no. 1617, and elsewhere.
