The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man and a woman may live in obedience to Allah for sixty years, then when death approaches them they cause harm through their bequest, and so the Fire becomes obligatory for them."The narrator said, Abu Hurairah recited to me from here, "After any bequest he may have made or any debt, without causing harm" until he reached "That is the great triumph" [Nisa 4:12–13].
حدثنا عبدة بن عبد الله أخبرنا عبد الصمد حدثنا نصر بن علي الحداني حدثنا الأشعث بن جابر حدثني شهر بن حوشب أن
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن الرجل ليعمل والمرأة بطاعة الله ستين سنة ثم يحضرهما الموت فيضاران في الوصية فتجب لهما النار قال وقرأ علي أبو هريرة من ها هنا {من بعد وصية يوصى بها أو دين غير مضار} حتى بلغ {ذلك الفوز العظيم}
[Its isnad is hasan] Tirmidhi transmitted it in Wasaya, chapter on what has been said about causing harm in bequests, no. 2117, from the hadith of Abdul-Samad, and he said, hasan sahih gharib. Ibn Majah also narrated it, no. 2704.Shahr bin Hawshab is disputed, though the majority, as I see it, considered him reliable. Dhahabi said in Diwan al-Duafa (p. 145) that his hadith is hasan. Ibn Hajar said, "Shahr's hadith is hasan, even though there is some weakness in him" (Fath al-Bari, 3/65).
