The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for livestock, hunting, or farming, will have a qirat deducted from his reward each day."
حدثنا الحسن بن علي حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة
عن النبي ﷺ قال من اتخذ كلبا إلا كلب ماشية أو صيد أو زرع انتقص من أجره كل يوم قيراط
Muslim narrated it in al-Musaqat, chapter on the command to kill dogs and the explanation of its abrogation, etc., hadith no. 1575, from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq, with this wording, and it is found in his Musannaf, hadith no. 19612. Tirmidhi also narrated it, hadith no. 1490, from Hasan bin Ali, with this wording.
