A man said, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ, during the days of ignorance we used to offer the Atira sacrifice in Rajab. What do you command us?"He said, "Sacrifice for Allah in whatever month it may be, fulfill your duty toward Allah , and feed others."The man said, "We also used to offer the Faraa sacrifice during the days of ignorance. What do you command us?"He said, "For every grazing herd, there is a Faraa which you nourish along with your livestock until, when it is fit to bear loads," Nasr said, "fit to carry pilgrims, you slaughter it and give its meat in charity." Khalid said, "I think he said, 'to the wayfarer, for that is better.'"Khalid said, I asked Abu Qilaba, "How many constitute a grazing herd?" He said, "One hundred."

رسول الله ﷺ إنا كنا نعتر عتيرة في الجاهلية في رجب فما تأمرنا قال اذبحوا لله في أي شهر كان وبروا الله عز وجل وأطعموا قال إنا كنا نفرع فرعا في الجاهلية فما تأمرنا قال في كل سائمة فرع تغذوه ماشيتك حتى إذا استحمل قال نصر استحمل للحجيج ذبحته فتصدقت بلحمه قال خالد أحسبه قال على ابن السبيل فإن ذلك خير قال خالد قلت لأبي قلابة كم السائمة قال مائة
