He asked, "Messenger of Allah, can slaughtering only be done at the upper chest or throat?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Even if you stabbed it in the thigh, it would suffice you."
حدثنا أحمد بن يونس حدثنا حماد بن سلمة
أنه قال يا رسول الله أما تكون الذكاة إلا من اللبة أو الحلق قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ لو طعنت في فخذها لأجزأ عنك
[Its chain is daif]. Reported by Tirmidhi, Game and Slaughtered Animals, chapter on what has been said regarding slaughtering at the throat and upper chest, no. 1481, Nasai, no. 4413, and Ibn Majah, no. 3184, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with this wording. Tirmidhi said, gharib, and Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, no. 907. Bukhari said regarding Abu Ushara, "There is doubt about his hadith, his name, and his hearing from his father." It has a daif corroborating narration in Haythami's Majma al-Zawaid, 4/34.
