On the day of sacrifice, the Prophet ﷺ slaughtered two horned, white rams that had been castrated. When he turned them toward the qiblah, he said, "I have turned my face toward the One who created the heavens and the earth, following the religion of Ibrahim, upright in faith, and I am not among those who associate partners with Allah. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds, who has no partner. With this I have been commanded, and I am among the Muslims. O Allah, this is from You and for You, on behalf of Muhammad and his community. In the name of Allah, and Allah is greatest." Then he slaughtered them.
حدثنا إبراهيم بن موسى الرازي حدثنا عيسى حدثنا محمد بن إسحق عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن أبي عياش
ذبح النبي ﷺ يوم الذبح كبشين أقرنين أملحين موجأين فلما وجههما قال إني وجهت وجهي للذي فطر السموات والأرض على ملة إبراهيم حنيفا وما أنا من المشركين إن صلاتي ونسكي ومحياي ومماتي لله رب العالمين لا شريك له وبذلك أمرت وأنا من المسلمين اللهم منك ولك وعن محمد وأمته باسم الله والله أكبر ثم ذبح
[Hasan] Ibn Majah narrated it in "The Sacrifices," chapter "The Sacrifices of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," hadith no. 3121, from Muhammad bin Ishaq, with this wording, and he explicitly stated that he heard it directly.* Yazid bin Abu Habib narrated it from Khalid bin Abu Imran, from Abu Ayyash, with this wording. Ahmad, 3/375, hadith no. 15086, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith no. 2899. The hadith has corroborating narrations in Tirmidhi, hadith no. 1521, and elsewhere.
