We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and when we were about to enter the city, he said, "Hold back so that we may enter at night, allowing the disheveled woman to comb her hair and the woman whose husband has been away to groom herself."
Bukhari recorded it in the book of Marriage, in the chapter on the woman whose husband is away shaving her private hair and combing her disheveled hair, hadith no. 5247, and so on, hadith no. 715, after hadith 1928, from the hadith of Hushaym with this wording. Muslim also recorded it in the book of Leadership, in the chapter on the dislike of arriving home unexpectedly at night. It is also found in Musnad Ahmad.
