The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Will you not rid me of Dhul-Khalasah?" So he went to it and burned it down, then sent a man from Ahmas, known by the kunya Abu Artah, to the Prophet ﷺ to deliver the good news.
حدثنا أبو توبة الربيع بن نافع حدثنا عيسى عن إسمعيل عن قيس
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ ألا تريحني من ذي الخلصة فأتاها فحرقها ثم بعث رجلا من أحمس إلى النبي ﷺ يبشره يكنى أبا أرطاة
Bukhari narrated it in jihad and expeditions, chapter, the good news of victories, hadith: 3076, and Muslim, chapter, the virtues of the companions, chapter, some of the virtues of Jareer bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, hadith: 2476, from the hadith of Ismail bin Abu Khalid, with this wording.
