Abdullah bin Wahb reported,

Amr bin Harith informed me that Ibn Harshaf al-Azdi narrated to him from Qasim, the freed slave of Abdul-Rahman, from one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "We used to eat from the slaughtered animals during military campaigns without dividing them up as spoils, to the point that we would return to our mounts with our saddlebags filled with the meat."

أخبرني عمرو بن الحارث أن ابن حرشف الأزدي حدثه عن القاسم مولى عبد الرحمن عن بعض أصحاب النبي ﷺ قال كنا نأكل الجزر في الغزو ولا نقسمه حتى إن كنا لنرجع إلى رحالنا وأخرجتنا منه مملأة
