We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition when he saw people gathered around something. He sent a man, saying, "Find out what these people have gathered around."The man came back and said, "Around a slain woman."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "She was not one who would have been fighting."Khalid bin Walid was leading the vanguard, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man and said, "Tell Khalid not to kill any woman or hired worker."
حدثنا أبو الوليد الطيالسي حدثنا عمر بن المرقع بن صيفي بن رباح قال حدثني أبي
كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في غزوة فرأى الناس مجتمعين على شيء فبعث رجلا فقال انظر علام اجتمع هؤلاء فجاء فقال على امرأة قتيل فقال ما كانت هذه لتقاتل قال وعلى المقدمة خالد بن الوليد فبعث رجلا فقال قل لخالد لا يقتلن امرأة ولا عسيفا
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Nasai narrated it in Al-Kubra, no. 8625, from Abu Walid Tayalisi, with this chain. Ibn Majah also narrated it, no. 2842. The hadith has other routes of transmission found in Ibn Hibban, no. 1656, and elsewhere.
