Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out on a military campaign, he would say, "O Allah, You are my support and my helper. By You I maneuver, by You I charge, and by You I fight."
حدثنا نصر بن علي أخبرنا أبي حدثنا المثنى بن سعيد عن قتادة
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا غزا قال اللهم أنت عضدي ونصيري بك أحول وبك أصول وبك أقاتل
[Its chain of transmission is daif]. Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Book of Supplications, chapter on the supplication to be made when going out to fight, no. 3584, from Nasr bin Ali with this wording, and he said, hasan gharib. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1661.Qatada narrated it using an ambiguous transmission form (an'ana).
