The Prophet ﷺ said, "Beware of taking the backs of your mounts as pulpits. Allah has only made them subservient to you so that they may carry you to lands you could not otherwise reach except with great hardship. He has made the earth for you, so attend to your needs upon it."
حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن نجدة حدثنا ابن عياش عن يحيى بن أبي عمرو السيباني عن ابن أبي مريم
عن النبي ﷺ قال إياكم أن تتخذوا ظهور دوابكم منابر فإن الله إنما سخرها لكم لتبلغكم إلى بلد لم تكونوا بالغيه إلا بشق الأنفس وجعل لكم الأرض فعليها فاقضوا حاجتكم
[Hasan] Bayhaqi narrated it: 5/255, from the hadith of Abu Dawud through the same route, and it has a corroborating witness in Ibn Khuzayma, no. 2544, and Ibn Hibban, no. 2002, and Hakim graded it sahih: 2/100, and Dhahabi agreed with him, and its chain is hasan, see also no. 2548.
