The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Keep to every sorrel horse with a white blaze and white stockings, or a bay with a white blaze and white stockings, or a sorrel with a white blaze and white stockings, or a black horse with a white blaze and white stockings."Muhammad, meaning Ibn Muhajir, said, "I asked him why the sorrel was given preference."He replied, "Because the Prophet ﷺ sent out a raiding party, and the first to come back with news of the victory was the rider of a sorrel horse."
حدثنا محمد بن عوف الطائي حدثنا أبو المغيرة حدثنا محمد بن مهاجر حدثنا عقيل بن شبيب عن أبي وهب قال قال رسول الله ﷺ عليكم بكل أشقر أغر محجل أو كميت أغر فذكر نحوه قال محمد يعني ابن مهاجر وسألته لم فضل الأشقر قال لأن النبي ﷺ بعث سرية فكان أول من جاء بالفتح صاحب أشقر
