Muaz bin Jabal reported,

He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever fights in the path of Allah for even the brief span between two milkings of a she-camel has earned Paradise. Whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom and then dies or is killed will receive the reward of a martyr."Ibn al-Musaffa added from this point, "Whoever sustains a wound in the path of Allah, or suffers an injury, it will come forth on the Day of Resurrection more abundant than ever, its color the color of saffron and its fragrance the fragrance of musk. And whoever develops a sore while serving in the path of Allah bears upon him the seal of the martyrs."

معاذ بن جبل حدثهم

أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول من قاتل في سبيل الله فواق ناقة فقد وجبت له الجنة ومن سأل الله القتل من نفسه صادقا ثم مات أو قتل فإن له أجر شهيد زاد ابن المصفى من هنا ومن جرح جرحا في سبيل الله أو نكب نكبة فإنها تجيء يوم القيامة كأغزر ما كانت لونها لون الزعفران وريحها ريح المسك ومن خرج به خراج في سبيل الله فإن عليه طابع الشهداء
