Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ while we were with him and said, "Messenger of Allah, my husband Safwan bin Muattal beats me when I pray, makes me break my fast when I fast, and does not perform the dawn prayer until the sun has risen."Safwan was present with him, so he asked him about what she had said.Safwan replied, "Messenger of Allah, as for her saying that I beat her when she prays, she recites two surahs and I have forbidden her from doing so."The Prophet said, "If it were one surah, it would be enough for people."Safwan continued, "As for her saying that I make her break her fast, she goes off and fasts while I am a young man and cannot remain patient."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that day, "A woman shall not fast except with her husband's permission."Safwan said, "And as for her saying that I do not pray until the sun rises, we are a household known for that. We hardly wake up until the sun has risen."The Prophet said, "When you wake up, then pray."
