The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should fast on Friday unless he fasts the day before it or the day after it."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يصم أحدكم يوم الجمعة إلا أن يصوم قبله بيوم أو بعده
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on Fasting, in the section on the dislike of singling out a specific day for fasting, etc., no. 1144, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya Dareer, and Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on Fasting, in the section on fasting on Friday, no. 1985, from the hadith of Amash, through the same chain.
