We traveled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during Ramadan. Some of us fasted and some did not, yet the one fasting did not criticize the one who broke his fast, nor did the one who broke his fast criticize the one fasting.
حدثنا أحمد بن يونس حدثنا زائدة عن حميد الطويل
سافرنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في رمضان فصام بعضنا وأفطر بعضنا فلم يعب الصائم على المفطر ولا المفطر على الصائم
Reported by Bukhari, in the Book of Fasting, chapter, "The Companions of the Prophet ﷺ did not fault one another for fasting or not fasting," Hadith no. 1947, and Muslim, in the Book of Fasting, chapter, "The permissibility of fasting and breaking the fast during Ramadan for the traveler when not engaged in sin," etc., Hadith no. 1118, from the hadith of Humayd Tawil, with this wording.
