[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Ibn Majah narrated it in "The Book of Manumission," in the chapter "One who wishes to free a man and his wife should begin with the man," hadith 2532, from the hadith of Ubaydullah bin Abdul-Majid, transmitted through him. Nasai also narrated it, hadith 3476, from the hadith of Ubaydullah bin Abdul-Rahman bin Mawhab, transmitted through him. He is hasan al-hadith. The majority of scholars deemed him reliable, and Ibn Adi said, "He is hasan al-hadith, and his hadith is recorded."
