The Prophet ﷺ said that Ibrahim ﷺ never told an untruth except on three occasions, two of them for the sake of Allah Almighty. His words, "I am indeed sick" [Saffat 37:89], and his words, "Rather, this, the biggest of them, did it" [Anbiya 21:63].The third was when he was traveling through the land of one of the tyrants and stopped to camp there. Someone came to the tyrant and told him, "A man has camped here, and with him is a woman who is the most beautiful of people."So the tyrant sent for Ibrahim and questioned him about her, and Ibrahim said, "She is my sister."When he returned to her he said, "This man asked me about you, and I told him you are my sister. There is no Muslim today except you and me, so you are my sister in the Book of Allah. Do not contradict me before him."And he continued with the hadith.

عن النبي ﷺ أن إبراهيم ﷺ لم يكذب قط إلا ثلاثا ثنتان في ذات الله تعالى قوله {إني سقيم} وقوله {بل فعله كبيرهم هذا} وبينما هو يسير في أرض جبار من الجبابرة إذ نزل منزلا فأتي الجبار فقيل له إنه نزل هاهنا رجل معه امرأة هي أحسن الناس قال فأرسل إليه فسأله عنها فقال إنها أختي فلما رجع إليها قال إن هذا سألني عنك فأنبأته أنك أختي وإنه ليس اليوم مسلم غيري وغيرك وإنك أختي في كتاب الله فلا تكذبيني عنده وساق الحديث
[Sahih] Nasai reported it in Sunan al-Kubra, no. 8374, from the hadith of Hisham with this chain, and Bukhari reported it, no. 5084, and Muslim, no. 2371, from the hadith of Ayub, from Muhammad bin Sirin, with this chain. The hadith of Shuayb bin Abu Hamza was reported by Bukhari, no. 2217.
