I asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is the right of our wives upon us?"He replied, "That you feed her when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, not strike her face, not insult her, and not abandon her except within the house."

قلت يا رسول الله ما حق زوجة أحدنا عليه قال أن تطعمها إذا طعمت وتكسوها إذا اكتسيت أو اكتسبت ولا تضرب الوجه ولا تقبح ولا تهجر إلا في البيت
Reference (its chain is sahih) reported by Ahmad, 3/5, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama, and Ibn Majah, in the chapter on Nikah, section on the right of the wife over the husband, no. 1850, from the hadith of Abu Qazaa, through him.
