When Ali married Fatimah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Give her something."Ali replied, "I have nothing."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Where is your Hutamiyyah armor?"
حدثنا إسحق بن إسمعيل الطالقاني حدثنا عبدة حدثنا سعيد عن أيوب عن عكرمة
لما تزوج علي فاطمة قال له رسول الله ﷺ أعطها شيئا قال ما عندي شيء قال أين درعك الحطمية
Graded sahih. Nasai reported it in the Book of Marriage, chapter on the gift given for privacy (khalwah), hadith no. 3378, from the hadith of Abdah with this chain, and the hadith has other routes of transmission, see Musnad Humaydi, my edition, hadith no. 38.
