The Prophet ﷺ said to a man, "Would you be pleased if I married you to such-and-such woman?"The man replied, "Yes."He then said to the woman, "Would you be pleased if I married you to such-and-such man?"She replied, "Yes."So he married them to each other. The man consummated the marriage with her without specifying any dowry for her and without giving her anything. He was among those who witnessed Hudaybiyyah, and whoever witnessed Hudaybiyyah had a share at Khaybar. When death approached him, he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me to such-and-such woman, and I did not specify a dowry for her nor give her anything. I call you to witness that I have given her my share at Khaybar as her dowry."She took the share and sold it for one hundred thousand.
حدثنا محمد بن يحيى بن فارس الذهلي ومحمد بن المثنى وعمر بن الخطاب قال محمد حدثنا أبو الأصبغ الجزري عبد العزيز بن يحيى أخبرنا محمد بن سلمة عن أبي عبد الرحيم خالد بن أبي يزيد عن زيد بن أبي أنيسة عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن مرثد بن عبد الله
أن النبي ﷺ قال لرجل أترضى أن أزوجك فلانة قال نعم وقال للمرأة أترضين أن أزوجك فلانا قالت نعم فزوج أحدهما صاحبه فدخل بها الرجل ولم يفرض لها صداقا ولم يعطها شيئا وكان ممن شهد الحديبية وكان من شهد الحديبية له سهم بخيبر فلما حضرته الوفاة قال إن رسول الله ﷺ زوجني فلانة ولم أفرض لها صداقا ولم أعطها شيئا وإني أشهدكم أني أعطيتها من صداقها سهمي بخيبر فأخذت سهما فباعته بمائة ألف
Its isnad is sahih. Bayhaqi narrated it in 7/232 from the hadith of Abu Dawud, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1257, 1262, as did Hakim, who ruled it on the standard of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) in 22/182, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
