He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying from the pulpit, "The sons of Hisham bin Mughira have asked my permission to marry their daughter to Ali bin Abu Talib. I will not give permission, then I will not give permission, then I will not give permission, unless Ibn Abu Talib wishes to divorce my daughter and marry their daughter. She is but a part of me. What troubles her troubles me, and what harms her harms me."The wording of the announcement appears in the narration of Ahmad.
Bukhari narrated it in "Nikah," chapter "A Man Defending His Daughter Out of Jealousy and Fairness," no. 5230, and Muslim narrated it in "The Virtues of the Companions," chapter "The Virtues of Fatimah, Daughter of the Prophet ﷺ," , no. 2449, both of them from Qutayba, with this same wording.
