Ibn Umar used to take a brief nap at al-Batha, then enter Mecca, and he would say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do the same.
حدثنا موسى أبو سلمة حدثنا حماد عن حميد عن بكر بن عبد الله وأيوب
أن ابن عمر كان يهجع هجعة بالبطحاء ثم يدخل مكة ويزعم أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يفعل ذلك
[Sahih] Ahmad reported it, 2/100, from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with this chain, see the following hadith. Bukhari also reported it, in Hajj, chapter on stopping at Dhu Tuwa before entering Makkah... etc, hadith no. 1768, from the hadith of Nafi with this chain, at greater length.
