The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only stopped at al-Muhassab to make his departure easier. It is not a sunnah, so whoever wishes may stop there, and whoever wishes may not.
حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن هشام عن أبيه
إنما نزل رسول الله ﷺ المحصب ليكون أسمح لخروجه وليس بسنة فمن شاء نزله ومن شاء لم ينزله
[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Bayhaqi narrated it, 5/161, from the hadith of Abu Dawud, through this chain, and it is in Musnad Ahmad, 6/190. Bukhari also narrated it in the Book of Hajj, Chapter on Muhassab, hadith 1765, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hajj, Chapter on the desirability of stopping at Muhassab on the day of departure, and so on, hadith 1311, from the hadith of Hisham bin Urwa, through this chain.
