I came to Umar bin Khattab and asked him about a woman who performs the tawaf around the House on the Day of Sacrifice and then begins menstruating.Umar said, "Let her last act be at the House."Harith said, "That is exactly what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me."Umar said, "May your hands be cut off! You asked me about something you had already asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about, just so I might give a different answer."
حدثنا عمرو بن عون أخبرنا أبو عوانة عن يعلى بن عطاء عن الوليد بن عبد الرحمن
أتيت عمر بن الخطاب فسألته عن المرأة تطوف بالبيت يوم النحر ثم تحيض قال ليكن آخر عهدها بالبيت قال فقال الحارث كذلك أفتاني رسول الله ﷺ قال فقال عمر أربت عن يديك سألتني عن شيء سألت عنه رسول الله ﷺ لكيما أخالف
[Its chain is sahih] Nasai narrated it in Al-Kubra, no. 4185, from the hadith of Abu Awana through him, and Ibn Mulaqqin graded it hasan in Tuhfat al-Muhtaj, no. 1146. Tirmidhi also narrated it, no. 946, through another route from Harith through him, and said, "Gharib."
