The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned Safiya bint Huyayy, and someone said that she had begun menstruating.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perhaps she will detain us."They replied, "Messenger of Allah, she has already performed the ifadah."He said, "Then no, she will not."
حدثنا القعنبي عن مالك عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ ذكر صفية بنت حيي فقيل إنها قد حاضت فقال رسول الله ﷺ لعلها حابستنا قالوا يا رسول الله إنها قد أفاضت فقال فلا إذا
[Its chain is sahih] Ahmad narrated it, 6/202, no. 26181, from the hadith of Hisham bin Urwa with this wording, 6/202, and it is in Muwatta (Yahya), 1/413, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 3002, and its basis is in Muslim, no. 1211, and Muslim, no. 1786, though with different wording.
