By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not have Ayesha perform Umra in Dhul-Hijjah except to put an end to the practice of the people of polytheism. For this clan of Quraysh and those who followed their religion used to say, "Once the camel's fur has grown back, the sores on its back have healed, and the month of Safar has begun, then Umra is permitted for whoever wishes to perform it." So they used to forbid Umra until Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram had passed.
[Hasan]. Ahmad (1/261) narrated it through Muhammad bin Ishaq with this chain, and he explicitly stated that he had heard it directly.
