The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent us, the young boys of Banu Abdul-Muttalib, ahead on the night of Muzdalifa upon small donkeys. He began patting our thighs and saying, "My little sons, do not throw at the Jamrah until the sun rises."
Its chain of transmission is daif. Ibn Majah reported it in the Book of Rites (Manasik), chapter on those who go ahead from Jam to Mina to throw the pebbles, hadith 3025, and Nasai, hadith 3066, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, and its chain is daif. Hasan Arni is trustworthy, but his narration from Ibn Abbas is a mursal one (Taqrib). The hadith has daif corroborating narrations.
