Someone asked about a man who, upon seeing the Kaaba, raises his hands. He replied, "I never saw anyone do this except the Jews. We performed the pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he did not do it."
حدثنا يحيى بن معين أن محمد بن جعفر حدثهم حدثنا شعبة قال سمعت أبا قزعة يحدث عن المهاجر المكي قال سئل
عن الرجل يرى البيت يرفع يديه فقال ما كنت أرى أحدا يفعل هذا إلا اليهود وقد حججنا مع رسول الله ﷺ فلم يكن يفعله
[Its isnad is daif] Tirmidhi transmitted it in Hajj, the chapter on the dislike of raising the hands when seeing the House, no. 855, and Nasai, no. 2898, from the hadith of Shubah, through this route.Muhajir Makki was deemed reliable by Ibn Hibban alone, so his status is unknown.
