We came across a swarm of locusts, and one of our men, while in the state of ihram, began striking them with his whip. He was told, "This is not permissible." The matter was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "It is only a creature of the sea's game."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا عبد الوارث عن حبيب المعلم عن أبي المهزم
أصبنا صرما من جراد فكان رجل منا يضرب بسوطه وهو محرم فقيل له إن هذا لا يصلح فذكر ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال إنما هو من صيد البحر

Sourcing, its chain of transmission is extremely daif. Tirmidhi transmitted it in Hajj, chapter on what has been said about sea game for the muhrim, hadith 850, and Ibn Majah, hadith 3222, from the hadith of Abu Muhazzim, and Tirmidhi said, gharib. Abu Muhazzim is matruk, as stated in Taqrib and elsewhere.
