Nabi bin Wahb reported,

Umar bin Ubaydullah bin Muamar suffered from a complaint in his eyes, so he sent to Abban bin Uthman, who, Sufyan said, was the leader of the Hajj season, asking what he should do about them.He replied, "Apply aloes as a poultice to them, for I heard Uthman relate this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل حدثنا سفيان عن أيوب بن موسى

عن نبيه بن وهب قال

اشتكى عمر بن عبيد الله بن معمر عينيه فأرسل إلى أبان بن عثمان قال سفيان وهو أمير الموسم ما يصنع بهما قال اضمدهما بالصبر فإني سمعت عثمان رضي الله عنه يحدث ذلك عن رسول الله ﷺ
