Caravans of riders would pass by us while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the state of ihram. When they came alongside us, each of us would let down her outer garment from her head over her face, and once they had passed, we would uncover them again.
حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل حدثنا هشيم أخبرنا يزيد بن أبي زياد عن مجاهد
كان الركبان يمرون بنا ونحن مع رسول الله ﷺ محرمات فإذا حاذوا بنا سدلت إحدانا جلبابها من رأسها على وجهها فإذا جاوزونا كشفناه
Its chain is daif. Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Rites of Pilgrimage, chapter on a woman in the state of ihram drawing her garment over her face, hadith no. 2935, from the hadith of Yazid bin Abu Ziyad, and it is also found in Musnad Ahmad, 6/30.Yazid is daif, as previously noted at 1474, and elsewhere.
