Fadl bin Abbas was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a woman from Khathaam came to seek a ruling from him. Fadl began looking at her and she at him, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept turning Fadl's face to the other side. She said, "Messenger of Allah, the obligation of Allah upon His servants regarding the pilgrimage has reached my father as a very old man who cannot remain steady on a mount. May I perform the pilgrimage on his behalf?"He replied, "Yes."This took place during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
