Ayesha said, "We set out with the intention of performing Hajj. When we reached Sarif, I began menstruating. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to me while I was weeping and asked, 'What is making you cry, Ayesha?'I replied, 'I have started menstruating. I wish I had not come for Hajj.'He said, 'Glory be to Allah, this is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. Perform all the rites as the other pilgrims do, but do not circumambulate the House.'"When we entered Mecca, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever wishes to convert his pilgrimage into Umrah may do so, except for those who have brought sacrificial animals with them."She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed cows on behalf of his wives on the Day of Sacrifice."On the night spent at Bathaa, after Ayesha had become pure, she said, "Messenger of Allah, are my companions to return having performed both Hajj and Umrah, while I return having performed only Hajj?"So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr to take her to Tanim, and from there she entered the state of ihram for Umrah.
حدثنا أبو سلمة موسى بن إسمعيل حدثنا حماد عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن أبيه
أنها قالت لبينا بالحج حتى إذا كنا بسرف حضت فدخل علي رسول الله ﷺ وأنا أبكي فقال ما يبكيك يا عائشة فقلت حضت ليتني لم أكن حججت فقال سبحان الله إنما ذلك شيء كتبه الله على بنات آدم فقال انسكي المناسك كلها غير أن لا تطوفي بالبيت فلما دخلنا مكة قال رسول الله ﷺ من شاء أن يجعلها عمرة فليجعلها عمرة إلا من كان معه الهدي قالت وذبح رسول الله ﷺ عن نسائه البقر يوم النحر فلما كانت ليلة البطحاء وطهرت عائشة قالت يا رسول الله أترجع صواحبي بحج وعمرة وأرجع أنا بالحج فأمر رسول الله ﷺ عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر فذهب بها إلى التنعيم فلبت بالعمرة
