The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to take charge of his sacrificial camels and to distribute their hides and saddle-cloths. He instructed me not to give the butcher any part of them as payment, saying, "We will pay him from our own resources."
حدثنا عمرو بن عون أخبرنا سفيان يعني ابن عيينة عن عبد الكريم الجزري عن مجاهد عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
أمرني رسول الله ﷺ أن أقوم على بدنه وأقسم جلودها وجلالها وأمرني أن لا أعطي الجزار منها شيئا وقال نحن نعطيه من عندنا
Bukhari narrated it in the book of Hajj, chapter "The butcher should not be given anything from the sacrificial animal," hadith no. 1716m, and Muslim narrated it in the book of Hajj, chapter "Giving in charity the meat, skins, and coverings of the sacrificial animals," etc., hadith no. 1317, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this same chain.
