The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best charity is that which leaves behind sufficiency, or which is given out of surplus. Begin with those whose support is your responsibility."
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة حدثنا جرير عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن خير الصدقة ما ترك غنى أو تصدق به عن ظهر غنى وابدأ بمن تعول
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Expenditures, Chapter on the Obligation of Spending on One's Family and Dependents, hadith no. 5355, from the hadith of Sulayman Amash, and it is found in the manuscript of Waki from Amash (12).
