Its chain is daif. Nasai also narrated it in Al-Kubra, no. 1339, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Fudayl bin Ghazwan, through the same route. The hadith has many corroborating narrations in Muslim, no. 193/763, Abu Dawud, no. 1358, Ibn Khuzayma, no. 1093, and others. The basic content of the hadith is found in Bukhari, nos. 117, 138, 183, and in Muslim, though not in this wording. Amash and Habib are both mudallis narrators, and they narrated it using "an" (without an explicit statement of direct hearing).
