The Prophet ﷺ found a date and said, "Were it not that I fear it might be from charity, I would have eaten it."
حدثنا نصر بن علي أخبرنا أبي عن خالد بن قيس عن قتادة
أن النبي ﷺ وجد تمرة فقال لولا أني أخاف أن تكون صدقة لأكلتها
[Sahih]. Narrated by Muslim, Zakat, chapter on the prohibition of zakat for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his household, etc., hadith no. 1071, from the hadith of Qatada in this wording. It was also narrated by Bukhari, hadith no. 2055, and Muslim, hadith no. 1071, from the hadith of Talha bin Musarrif, from Anas, in this wording.
