[Its chain is daif] Reported by Tirmidhi, Tahara, Chapter on wiping over socks and sandals, no. 99, and Ibn Majah, no. 559, from the hadith of Waki, with this chain, and its chain is daif because of the ambiguous transmission (anana) of Thawri. Nevertheless, Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih." The hadith has corroborating reports, and the consensus of the companions supports it.
