The Prophet ﷺ said, "Wiping over the leather socks is for three days for the traveler and one day and night for the resident."
حدثنا حفص بن عمر حدثنا شعبة عن الحكم وحماد عن إبراهيم عن أبي عبد الله الجدلي
عن النبي ﷺ قال المسح على الخفين للمسافر ثلاثة أيام وللمقيم يوم وليلة
[Sahih] Tirmidhi narrated it, Purity, Chapter on wiping over the leather socks for the traveler and the resident, 95, from the hadith of Ibrahim Taymi with this wording, and he said, hasan sahih. Ibn Majah also narrated it, no. 553, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (Mawarid), no. 181.
