Ubada said, "Abu Muhammad is mistaken. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Five prayers Allah has prescribed upon His servants. Whoever performs them without neglecting any of them out of disregard for their right has a covenant with Allah that He will admit him into Paradise. Whoever does not perform them has no covenant with Allah. If He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will admit him into Paradise.'"
حدثنا القعنبي عن مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد عن محمد بن يحيى بن حبان عن ابن محيريز أن رجلا من بني كنانة يدعى المخدجي سمع رجلا بالشام يدعى أبا محمد يقول إن الوتر واجب قال المخدجي فرحت إلى
فقال عبادة كذب أبو محمد سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول خمس صلوات كتبهن الله على العباد فمن جاء بهن لم يضيع منهن شيئا استخفافا بحقهن كان له عند الله عهد أن يدخله الجنة ومن لم يأت بهن فليس له عند الله عهد إن شاء عذبه وإن شاء أدخله الجنة
[Its isnad is hasan] Nasai reported it in the Book of Prayer, Chapter on Maintaining the Five Prayers, no. 462, from the hadith of Malik, and Ibn Majah, no. 1401, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Yahya bin Habban, through him, and it is in the Muwatta (Yahya), 1/123. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, nos. 252, 253, and it has a corroborating witness mentioned earlier, no. 425.
