Ayesha reported,

Regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would lead the people in the evening prayer, then retire to his bed and sleep. In the middle of the night, he would rise to relieve himself and perform his ablution. Then he would enter the mosque and pray eight units of prayer. It seemed to me that he made them equal in their recitation, bowing, and prostration. Then he would pray a single unit as witr, then pray two units while seated, then lie down on his side. Sometimes Bilal would come and announce the prayer to him, and he might doze off, so that I would sometimes wonder whether he had dozed off or not, until Bilal would announce the prayer to him. This was his prayer until he grew older and his body became heavier with flesh," and she mentioned what Allah willed regarding his body, and she continued the hadith.
